What to Expect

Sessions are 60 minutes. During your first one or two appointments we may spend the majority of the time gathering information about your current difficulties and background. You may also be asked to complete one or two questionnaires.

There is usually no standard treatment duration and the number of consultations required to get the changes you want will vary from person to person and from family to family. However, after the assessment has been conducted I can sometimes give you an informed estimate and discuss your options with you.

Sessions are face to face in the Practice rooms but life can be hectic at times so there is the option of Telehealth sessions using the Zoom platform.

Consultation Fees

Rebates are available through the Medicare Better Access Scheme. Clients will need a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP in order to access the rebate. The rebate provided by Medicare for seeing a Mental Health Occupational Therapist is $82.30 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Some private health funds offer rebates for mental health counselling services. The amount of the rebate depends on your level of cover. Please note that you cannot claim both Medicare and private health fund rebates for the same session.
